Alexandra’s inspiration came from her children’s cherished bedtime reading - the fairy stories of 19th-century romantic poet Alexander Pushkin, illustrated by Ivan Bilibin. The Fair Isle design features cultural symbols found in Bilibin’s watercolours such as the firebird, which represents reincarnation, new life and hope; and the toadstool, often associated with sprites or mythical forest creatures in children’s literature. Find cashmere shades evocatively named Ocean, Flame, Sulphur and Eucalyptus that bring these whimsical designs alive.
